Ministry
The Worship Ministry meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month and is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the worship life of the congregation. If you’re interested in serving on this ministry, please indicate your interest under “Worship Ministry” on your Time & Talents Covenant.
Greet and Usher
Greeters and ushers extend the hospitality of Second Presbyterian Church to all who gather for worship on Sunday mornings. Greeters welcome members and visitors in the Narthex.
Ushers at the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services hand out bulletins, usher people to available pews and assist those who need large-print hymnals and bulletins or hearing assistance devices. Ushers also receive the offering during the service.
Ushers at the Garden Service are responsible for helping set up for the service, handing out bulletins, gathering the offering and sign-in sheets following the service.
Ushers are also needed for funerals and memorial services held at Second Presbyterian Church.
Please select W01 to W08 on your Time & Talents Covenant.
Serve as a Liturgist
Liturgists lead selected parts of the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. worship services and serve as visible reminders that the worship of God is a shared activity among clergy and congregation. During Advent, a family serves as Advent Wreath lighter and liturgist. Please select W09 to W12 on your Time & Talents Covenant.
Serve Communion
Active or inactive elders or deacons are invited to help celebrate Communion during regular worship services. Please select W13 to W15 on your Time & Talents Covenant.
Livestream Technicians
Do you have an aptitude for computers? Then do we have an opportunity for you. As part of the Second Vision Capital Campaign, we started putting together the equipment to livestream our Sunday morning service. We are in need of a handful of folks willing to take on a Sunday morning every month to help operate the livestream. For more information or to volunteer, contact Sam Byrd.
